There are three finalists for the Principal position at Edmonds Elementary.
Laura is the Dean of Students and Mentor at Fairmount Elementary in the Mukilteo School District.
Since 2005, [Person] has served as the Assistant Principal of Shorewood High School in the Shoreline School District.
Currently, Melissa is completing her administrative internship at Island Park and Lakeridge Elementary schools, and is the Mentor to Teachers for the Mercer Island School District.
There will be a Community Forum at Edmonds Elementary this evening, May 28th, starting at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to meet each finalist, ask questions, and provide written feedback.

She makes stupid people look intelligent.
Gee. My reasoned request to Bradshaw that she stop bullying me (following several attempts to get the behavior stopped by private means) was only sent to all in my building (public information is a form of inoculation); I was put on administrative leave and forced out of the district.
This remark is much more personal, cutting, and inappropriate. It is from an administrator, someone who should know better. It appears that it was sent to everyone in the district. That's what "reply to all" means.
It will be interesting to see if these similar incidents are dealt with in a similar fashion. If nothing similar happens to Birdsong then we will all know that, again, the powerful protect their friends. What will you do then? What will the Board do? What example will they be setting for the students?
Why is she still hoping the day after the forum? Didn't she attend? If she is so interested in diversity she should have attended the forum.
No problem. She's in HR. Just take the finalist applications home and Chuck Penney will be the next Principal of Edmonds Elementary.
Not at all amusing. She should be canned now. She is horrible with people. Can you cover up another lie Cathy? And yes,you are a total F. up
Nick, this sort of behavior coming from an HR manager really sucks. The only conclusion I can come to is that you condone, maybe even support, these sort of foolish attitudes and actions among your management staff. If Birdsong's view of principals is this poor, I can only imagine what you and yours think of us that aren't members of your P-12 club!
Can you imagine if it was one of us non-management employees who attached a comment insulting a principal on a district e-mail, then sent it out to all staff? Mistake or not, we would have a letter of direction and a couple of days off without pay faster than you could say "childish management".
This is proof again that a very real double standard exists in this district. I hope those in charge can start growing up.
Oh, that's really awful. It's bad enough to see the "mean girls" type of behavior going on with high school students, but you hope they mature in time. When these are the adults in charge, however ... I guess it isn't any wonder. That's really too bad.
If we could only deport the rube back to Tumwater.
