It was a good article and also mentioned another candidate. In Sunday's newspaper, there were two "Letters to the Editor" regarding Mr. Weiss, one was favorable, the other was negative. I can only see "HOPE" from Alan Weiss, who has experience and yes, has high expectations, but can also see "right through" some of the dishonesty, poor choices, procedures, that are taking place in the Edmonds School District.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29571009.post-76640403833677398092007-09-12T18:22:00.000-07:002007-09-12T18:22:00.000-07:00Alan Weiss has my vote, and I am doing my best to ...Alan Weiss has my vote, and I am doing my best to promote him as the only candidate able to offer any hope for an end to the waste and lackluster "leadership" with which we're currently saddled. He has 42 years of knowing how schools and teachers realistically operate, and certainly proved at Edmonds-Woodway that he can deliver quality. Just go to his website:

alanmweiss4schoolboard.com

and take a look at the "campaign issues" tab. Finally! Someone talking about "Sustained Staff Development," and bucking the "flavor of the month" trend that ebbs and flows with the current cast of Royal Court Favorites. (jesters?)I think that any of us who are really fed up need to not just vote for him, but work to get his name and message out there. The incumbent is counting on Alan not having the financial resources to put up a good fight. I wish we could show all of them that we have the GUTS to do it! You can contact Alan through his website - offer to help!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29571009.post-48438617394777332532007-09-10T00:37:00.000-07:002007-09-10T00:37:00.000-07:00I agree, Mr. Weiss has high expectations and seems...I agree, Mr. Weiss has high expectations and seems arrogant at times, but he is the best choice for the School Board; perhaps he could see right through Marla Miller and her followers by being elected to the Board, where he may get the real facts that the average citizen cannot access in any way, shape or form!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29571009.post-73263302122458233472007-09-08T20:07:00.000-07:002007-09-08T20:07:00.000-07:00Alan Weiss: Demon or Saint? He has been described by coworkers as having expectations that are too high & his demands are sometimes unrealistic. He may have a failing in being too arrogant. But it has been said he doesn't particularly agree with or care for Marla Miller.

Maybe he could be just the man for the job!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29571009.post-21508806748003864252007-09-07T12:12:00.000-07:002007-09-07T12:12:00.000-07:00I would give my vote to Alan Weiss; he was an exce...I would give my vote to Alan Weiss; he was an excellent Principal at Edmonds Woodway High School; just look at the EWHS test scores; the highest in the District. Why would Mr. Weiss, after retiring, want to spend his time on the School Board if he isn't interested in the education of students. Mr. Weiss loves to go fishing; he could just spend his time on his boat if he wasn't concerned about the image the board is projecting. He would bring a new approach, and fresh ideas to the Board; he certainly has the experience and knowledge, having worked with kids. Mr. Weiss has my VOTE!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29571009.post-57674711981576313112007-08-31T20:43:00.000-07:002007-08-31T20:43:00.000-07:00Alan Weiss is running for a seat on the School Boa...Alan Weiss is running for a seat on the School Board.

For those of you who don't know he just retired at the end of the last school year after 10 years as Principal of Edmonds-Woodway High School.

Depending upon to whom you listen Alan Weiss is either: Fully committed to helping all students in educational achievement and personal success.

Or he is an unapproachable elitist and egomaniac who is a legend only in his own mind, described as Machiavellian and holding strong opinions while being highly judgmental.

Do we really need to add these potential characteristics to our School Board? I think that we should look very carefully and give fair consideration to him based upon his sphere of influence's experiences with him.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29571009.post-54953247267868956582007-08-31T20:23:00.000-07:002007-08-31T20:23:00.000-07:00With regard to the photos you have posted - could ...With regard to the photos you have posted - could you consider giving equal time to Paris Hilton & Marilyn Manson as they too have influenced the lives of our children.

Then we can leave the validity in qualifying which of the above has had the most positive affect open to debate.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29571009.post-73340014990671583012007-08-31T10:31:00.000-07:002007-08-31T10:31:00.000-07:00Hoping that this becomes "The Blog that Saved Edmo...Hoping that this becomes "The Blog that Saved Edmonds", but realizing this sounds like a 50's b-movie title, is probably expecting too much. They either can't, or won't, see their children's class sizes being raised and their money being wasted, while the King and his nobles fatten their wallets. The best the Board of Directors can apparently do is tell the King what a wonderful set of threads he has. What will it take for the paying public to revolt? Perhaps the Board directing foodservice to "LET THEM EAT CAKE!" will do it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29571009.post-36089696064182587742007-08-30T18:24:00.000-07:002007-08-30T18:24:00.000-07:00Since Mr. Noble is currently running for re-electi...Since Mr. Noble is currently running for re-election and has done nothing but perpetuate the waste of taxpayer money, we need to work for his opponent.
