You "perhaps" people need to shut up. Perhaps I help in that process?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29571009.post-51495539151646971402008-09-10T10:28:00.000-07:002008-09-10T10:28:00.000-07:00Thank you for your consideration and deep thought....Thank you for your consideration and deep thought. Rules and regs are often created to try to deal with these lapses. One could assume that the "no spouse" policy is the result of a past situation of some sort. It might be interesting to know the provenance of this policy. What situation was it created to address? Is the current situation similar or dissimilar? Frequently there are unseen, unpredictable, unintended consequences of our actions. Perhaps this is an example.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29571009.post-50383607527733018042008-09-04T20:50:00.000-07:002008-09-04T20:50:00.000-07:00No I think the idea is that as long as voters elec...No I think the idea is that as long as voters elect a person who is also a teacher, they are getting the representation that they wanted WITH THEIR EYES WIDE OPEN. I imagine that the only thing a teacher would have to abstain a vote on would be salary issues.

What is going on currently (employee married to board member) is a violation of the district's policies, but it doesn't seem to matter to anyone.
